I Fucking Hate October.
And not just because it is the start of winter. But it does seem to be my Nemesis month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xu0p6CtioZk
I had to post that clip, ha ha. Ok, some context on why October is a month I have a deepening dislike for. If something in my life/year is going to go wrong it always seems to be in October.
I have had relationships falter and end in October more than any other month. I got disqualified from driving in October (totting up of points).
I always seem to get ill in October, and if you are an ever faithful you will know that my constitution is quite strong, certainly more so than that of a certain 'Great Country' appears to be at present anyway. Oops little bit of politics there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJh9t9h6Wn0
Illness usually evades me, but not in October.
The start of winter is also a meh point for me, the long dark nights, the cold, scraping of car windows, pumpkin spice latte matcha skinny frappes or whatever the fuck they are, et al. I am not one of those 'I love getting all wrapped up' types either. Bore off. I want to be in shorts and (tight) t-shirts all year round.
Hey I have worked hard for the right, ha ha.
I don't let the season get me down (anymore), I just don't enjoy it. If my numbers ever came up on the Lottery, that I never play, then I doubt I would see a winter again for the rest of my days. Today is 23rd October 2026, so how has it fared so far? Well, I had a cold, a stinker of one.
The intercooler on the Jaaag went pop a third of the way into a very long journey and as such my love affair with Jaaags is in hiatus.
In fairness it survived the trip, got us home and served some amazing friends well for the weekend but it needs to go.
My training took a nosedive off a very sheer cliff and my 120KG bench by the end of the year is looking dubious and man am I pissed as a result.
Surely that is enough to cement my detest for October.
But.
I went to see Duran Duran with my bestie, Lucy and they were superb.
My training is back on point.
I have a new car, it is not a Jaaag, but it is quite pretty and I am slowly coming around to it.
And. My brother married the love of his life, his one and I was there for the whole weekend by their sides and loved every second. It was simply perfect.
I cried, of course I did.
I laughed, a lot, and I spent time with some of the most special people on this planet to me, and I made new friends too.
It was the highlight of my year, of my life I would say.
I am so proud of what Sam has made of his life and I cannot wait to see where he takes it with Annie from here.
Oh, and I have a date tomorrow, with a lady no less, a very pretty one. (that got your attention huh, I know you all so well, ha ha) Ok. October maybe you are not so bad after all...
