Butterflies Lay Eggs

Who Knew? This post could also be part three of https://www.my11yearplan.com/post/life-is-too-short-for-bad-coffee

and https://www.my11yearplan.com/post/life-is-too-short-for-bad-coffee-the-sequel The machine mentioned in the above 'the sequel' post decided that it did not want to play ball anymore, it was never a 'great player' in fairness, but of late it really has not been keeping up, barely holding it's own, which really is just passing heated water through ground coffee.

So, I bought a new one. A mate once said, when I purchased the last one, that it was a slippery slope, I would always crave a better machine. Nope, says I, I only drink black coffee, I only desire a machine that can grind beans of choice and make me a black coffee.

I don't need frothing, steaming, touch screens, ice latte settings or anything to do with Matcha, which is some green stuff that looks anything other than appealing.

Hot isn't it? Might be too hot.

I love this weather, I really do, but ideally I need a pool and some form of AC, plus an all inclusive bar, and someone to cook for me, other than that it can stay.

We will soon be moaning that it is cold and dark too early, so enjoy it! June was quiet. I trained hard, even if the mirror says I didn't.

Mirrors are bastards, I hate them, even the ones in the gym, all mirrors are bastards. I abstained from the grape and grain and I hit my macros, mostly.

No alcohol equals sweet tooth. July though.

It is the 11th and I feel like I have entered the month sideways, on fire, tyres screaming, foot flat on the loud pedal and with a huge grin on my face. We saw Marti Pellow and Billy Ocean live at Cannock Chase, superb venue and concert. The Jaaag passed its MOT, flying colours, no advisories. Beast. Well aside from the broken AC. Last weekend Lucy and I were in London. We went to the South Bank, ate superb food, watched the tennis at an outdoor bar, went to a museum in a church and ultimately saw The Last Dinner Party and Wolf Alice at Finsbury Park Ever faithful few, I am still coming down from that gig.

Sublime I actually cried, yep, this boy can show emotion. This weekend is a 'quiet one'.

Ish. Lucy was in town today as her youngest had a dance recital at the theatre, so we met up and went on the Sabrina

Sabrina is a forty minute boat ride down and back up the Severn between the Welsh and English bridges, taking in the loop of the river that circles this town. The town I live in and the river loop that, I, on the regular, paddleboard on. I am a tourist in my own town. Weird. It was brilliant. Come here and do it. We walked through town, had a 'Spoons lunch, and after the girls went back to the theatre, I bumped into a mate by chance and we had a couple of beers. On my home I met the captain of the Sabrina and we had a chat about the town and how superb it is.

Because, it really is.

My smile will take some shifting after today. You know I am not fan of Kissball and I always think of this sketch when it is on. https://www.instagram.com/reels/DSXhaYNAD6t/ I loves football, don't I?

All right, what team you support?

Chelsea United And um, also I like, oh what's that team with David Beckham in it? Manchester United.

I like Rovers, I like London, and I like Tottenham, but I don't like Spurs And I go to the games and I say Rah rah rah, come on football and score the goals! And I say home run now please, howzat? Good Luck England. So. Butterflies lay eggs. I live in a Penthouse (I know, I have done well for myself), granted that is, in realty, simply a fourth floor apartment with a balcony. Let me have some small victories please. I am growing, on said balcony, a Lemon Tree. It will be many years before I see a lemon on it, but, it is growing and it is loving this sunny weather. Recently, I noted that one leaf was folded over, further investigations found that a green 'inch worm' caterpillar had decided my Lemon tree was its new home, it had used silk to fold the leaf over for cover from predators and also use as its personal larder. Well, I am not having that, I am and have put time in keeping this plant alive as well as assisting in it continuing to thrive. So eviction was the only option, bye bye inch worm. It got me thinking though, how did this caterpillar find my plant, so far away from any other vegetation, four storeys up, town centre, baffling. I was regaling this story to a colleague and he simply said. 'A butterfly clearly laid its egg on your plant'. I am a really stupid human...
